Prepare for the Challenge

There are some things you can do to prepare to start the challenge on May 2 or 3rd.  For the next few days, look at what you typically eat and drink.  Just observe.  Are you eating heavily processed foods?  Sugar?  Heavy on the animal fat and meat?  How much water do you drink throughout your day?

  • Also consider purchasing the Yoga Detox Booklet as I will be referring to this through the detox.  The website to purchase it is:  here.  Linda Rae has done her 72-hr yoga detox at the studio twice now and I have participated - it is the best one I have tried and I have tried several over the past 30 years.
  • Stock up on dark green leafy greens (for salads), lemons (for daily morning lemon water) and again, buy that yoga detox booklet - it has a full grocery list of foods to buy.  You can download it instantly.  It's only $20 and a portion of this supports our studio.
  • Consider purchasing spirulina.  The co-ops and Whole Foods usually carry this.  I use the powder.  100% organic spirulina powder.  If you purchase a small amount and then order it through my website, you'll have a good supply.  This is a food I have eaten for 30 years.   Studies over the past 20 years have shown that spirulina build the immune system.  It also detoxifies the body.  Start with 1/4 teaspoon of the powder daily, try this for one week, then you can increase.  Even a small amount will start detoxifying your body.

Symptoms of detoxification:
You could experience mild or medium symptoms as you detoxify, although yoga will help to move this through your body much quicker.   Some symptoms could include:  mild cold symptoms, headache, change in your bowel movements.

I have detoxed so many times that I no longer experience much in the way of symptoms, oh, sometimes gas.
