Yoga Prairie's 200 Hr Registered Yoga Teacher training programs:

Yoga Prairie is a registered yoga school with Yoga Alliance, a national organization that sets standards for certifying yoga teachers and also has a registry of certified teachers.  We are also a licensed private career school by the Minnesota State office of higher education since 2009.
  • Eden Prairie Program Begins September 2012.  We will meet one weekend a month for 8 consecutive months.  (Program ends May 2013).   We have some amazing teachers on the Yoga Prairie staff who will be your teachers during the program.  In addition to the teachers on our website, we will also have some visiting instructors (see next paragraph)
  • For pricing and exact schedule information, please download catalog and application (you can use the current one for next year too....email for dates)
  • Optional Meditation Workshops:  Participants will also have the opportunity to experience the teachings and presence of Ishwar Puri, a living master of meditation (although he does not claim to be).  Karen, the head instructor of the program, has been attending his workshops for more than 8 years.  These meditation workshops (2 of them) are not included in the cost of the program because the workshops themselves are free and the only expense for them is travel and lodging (which can be shared by participants).  They take place in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, only 2-1/2 drive from the Twin Cities.  One the first weekend in April and the other one the weekend after Labor Day weekend in September.  This is an added value to the program, you do not need to register in the program to attend.
  • Head Instructor: Karen, your program director and main instructor, has been a Self Expression coach and Wellness coach for several years and will also be coaching and guiding you individually throughout your program.  Read more about Karen on her bio and blog. (click on orange words)
  • Practice Teaching in our studio:  During the 200 hr program you will also have the opportunity to practice-teach at Yoga Prairie's community yoga classes.  These classes are set-up to offer a low-cost alternative to the community while giving new teachers an opportunity to gain teaching experience.
  • Additional classes included:  Teacher trainees will be required to also take 2 hours per week of classroom time (to be scheduled Tuesdays-Fridays)  This program will be taught by the program director, Karen Kinnard, E-RYT and the staff of Yoga Prairie.  Participants will also gain teaching experience at the studio as well as career development mentoring.
  • Click here to fill out an application.  Tuition is $2,850 if paid in full for Eden Prairie Program.  This program is 230 hrs if you take all of the optional portions of the program (including the meditation workshops).
