Philosophy and Guidelines It is the goal of the Minnesota Yoga Teacher's foundation to provide scholarships for continuing education for yoga teachers in Minnesota and to provide assistance to students who cannot attend yoga classes due to lack of funds or incarceration.
- Applicant must be a registered yoga instructor or have equivalent education and experience (scholarship is not for initial 200 hr certification).
- Applicant must have participated in community service in the past 12 months.
- Applicant must be currently teaching yoga.
- Scholarship must be used for continuing yoga teacher training.
- Submit:
- 1) A list of the education and teaching experience – yoga related only please.
- 2) What community service you have participated in and results of your community service
- 3) Your name, address, phone no., email address and where you are teaching yoga and contact information of where you are teaching.
- 4) A short paragraph stating why you are teaching yoga and about your community service

- • Students must complete and submit applications along with all supporting documents by mail. The committee will not review incomplete applications.
- • An essay must accompany each scholarship application if required as part of the criteria.
- • Falsification of any information will result in the withdrawal of any scholarship award and/or immediate forfeiture of any monetary awards.
- • All award decisions by the scholarship committee are final.
- • Scholarship recipients will be notified within 2 months of application date.
- • Recognition will be given to scholarship recipients in local news publications in the Twin Cities in Minnesota
