Beginners to Yoga Schedule:

 

 

All new students are encouraged to attend a beginner's session to learn proper alignment & safety before trying more advanced clases.

Mornings*:   Thurs. 9:30 am  or           Evenings:  Tuesday 5:30 pm or 7:15 pm.  (In October, our beginner's sessions are 6:00 pm on Thurs.)

Beginner's Class Pass:  8 classes, 8 weeks, $76.  (Prices)

 

Beginners:  Have to miss a class?  You can make it up in the same week at another Beginner class

or talk with Karen to make other arrangements.   Drop in $10 for Beginners

All Beginner's Classes have room right now.   

 

Other Levels:  (Levels 1, 2 & 3 Yoga - after beginners:)

Tuesday-Friday Community Ed classes (level 2):  link     (Community Education Yoga Classes through Yoga Prairie begin the 2nd Week of June.)

Laughter Yoga - community ed:

 

*Morning beginner classes are ongoing - you can join it any time & will be given personal attention - class sizes are small (Monday 10 am and/or Thursday 9:30 am)

Beginner's classes all learn the following:

Session 1:  Yoga asana, level one poses, learn safe alignment, the health, strength, & flexibility benefits of the poses.   Emphasis on foot, hip, joint, spinal alignment for safety.  Proper breathing.  Balance pose intro.

Session 2:  Yoga asana – practice level one poses, building on previous week with an emphasis on releasing shoulder & hip tension. 

Session 3Yoga for strength- building on the first two weeks, poses that strengthen legs, arms & core;

Session 4Hamstrings: Stretch, strengthen – tight hamstrings can create tightness over the entire backside of the body –release them here!  Introduce  Supta Padhagusthasana with strap & more

Session 5Yoga asana with vinyasa.  Link the poses we have learned with breath & movement! Introduce sun salutations.

Session 6:  Balance and Twist: Now that you have developed strength & flexibility in your practice, experience the next level of health benefits!  These poses benefit digestive,  immune systems & more.

Session 7:   Back bending poses.  These poses strengthen the back, arms, and legs,  bring flexibility to the spine, opens the heart & energizes you!

Session 8Yoga asana, level 2- An introduction to level 2 poses, connect deeply with mind/body/breath and experience freedom.  Standing: level 2: Warrior I; introduce other poses that require more strength than before.
