I began studying yoga in 1986 after giving birth to my first child, Jasmine. I had scoliosis and my back was in pain from carrying and nursing a baby. Yoga was a physical necessity to begin strengthening my back. In 1988 my son Joshua was born after 9 months of prenatal yoga. The birth experience was transformational. Yoga helped me to give birth in a hot tub, with conscious ease.

In 1995 I completed a two year study program with certification in Natural Therapies from the Australasian College of Herbal Studies and began a holistic health practice. In 1999, I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. I studied Reiki in 2000, became a Reiki Master in 2003, then completed my yoga study later that year at the 200 hr. level. I also have a certificate in Lifestyle & Weight Management and Holistic Coaching Certification from NESTA.   Also leading introductions for the transformational education programs offered by Landmark Education.    Appointments for reiki, private yoga sessions or health coaching are available by calling Karen at 952-451-8045

Since becoming a certified instructor, I have attended additional teacher’s training workshops in adjusting students, Ashtanga yoga 40 hr teacher training with David Swenson, Larry Schultz' Advanced Teacher Training in the Rocket (100 hr. certification) (FUN!),  Rod Stryker’s yoga workshop, and many more.
